QuARANAtine: Creating Connection, Community & Belonging During Isolation

During the uncertainty and isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining student connection and a sense of belonging became more important than ever. QuARANAtine was an initiative focused on creating an inclusive space for students to connect, build relationships, and maintain a sense of community when traditional in-person engagement was limited.

Through Campus Nest's assistance and people-centered approach, the project can be positioned around the programming, accessible engagement, community-building, and student wellbeing. The emphasis was on ensuring that students continued to feel visible, supported, and connected despite physical distance.

Project Outcomes & Impact

Potential measures to include in the portfolio:

  • Student engagement: Number of students participating in virtual activities and events.

  • Community building: Number of programs, discussions, and opportunities for peer connection.

  • Accessibility: Opportunities for students to participate regardless of location or circumstances.

  • Student wellbeing: Increased opportunities for social support and connection during isolation.

  • Inclusion: Creation of a dedicated environment for LGBTQ+ visibility and belonging.

The Campus Nest approach: Community does not depend on a physical building. It depends on relationships, inclusion, and creating opportunities for people to feel that they belong.
